DO NOT attempt to install this appliance yourself. Injury could result from installing the unit due to lack of appropriate electrical and technical background. All electrical wiring must be properly installed, insulated and grounded. Overly accumulated grease in old duct work should be cleaned out or duct work should be replaced if necessary to avoid the possibility of a grease fire. Check all joints on duct work to insure proper connection and all joints should be properly taped. Operations Read all instructions in this manual before operating the appliance. Save these instructions for future reference. Always leave safety grills and filters in place. Without these components, operating blowers could catch on to hair, fingers and loose clothing. NEVER dispose cigarette ashes, ignitable substances, or any foreign objects into blowers. NEVER leave cooking unattended. When frying, oil in the pan can easily overheat and catch fire. The risk of self combustion is higher when the oil has been used several times. Cleaning The saturation of greasy residue in the blower and filters may cause increased flammability. Keep unit clean and free of grease and residue build-up at all times to prevent possible fires. Filters must be cleaned periodically and kept free from accumulation of cooking residue (see cleaning instructions inside). Old and worn filters must be replaced immediately. Do not operate blowers when filters are removed. Never disassemble parts to clean without proper instructions. Disassembly is recommended to be performed by qualified personnel only. CONTROLS & FEATURES TOUCH CONTROLS & FEATURES 2 The standard Metal Filters are required to be cleaned frequently and as recommended in order to maintain blower efficiency. If improperly maintained, residue from cooking will sift though filters and cause damage to hood blowers and other sensitive components; and possibly clog duct work and create a fire hazard. CONTROLS & FEATURES CONTROLS: FILTER CHANGE INDICATOR (CARBON FILTERS) 3 Filter Change Reminder (Carbon, if fitted): When your hood is installed as a 'Purifying' (Ductless Recirculating) unit, it is fitted with a set of Carbon Filters to purify exhaust and fumes from cooking, then re-circulate the air within the home. These Carbon Filters are required to be replaced after every 120 hours of use. The Filter Change Reminder function in the microprocessor needs to be switched on. The microprocessor in the when carboncontrols when set, will elapse and count usage time and indicate by a flashing filter replacement is needed. Setting the Filter Change Reminder: When Off, hold , (purifying mode/ for approx. 5 seconds. The display will change from (exhaust mode) to carbon filters used) this indicates that the elapse timer function is switched on and Carbon Filters are used. When the display starts flashing, the Carbon Filters require replacement. Filter Replace Indicator: Re-setting Function: Once filters are replaced, with hood off, hold for approximately 5 seconds until , the display will appear; press and hold on display disappears . Do not use corrosive or abrasive detergent (e.g. Comet powder scrub, Easy Off oven cleaner), or steel wool/scouring pads which will scratch and damage surface. For heavier soil use liquid degreaser such as 'Formula 409' or 'Fantastic' brand cleaner. After cleaning, you may use non abrasive stainless steel polish/ cleaners such as 3M or ZEP, to polish and buff out the stainless luster and grain. Always ...
