EN10 7HJ. Tel: 0992 469080. Fax: 0992 469513 (sales & marketing). Fax: 0992 469514 (finance) INFORMATION This cooker hood features a convertible diffuser. By the movement of a lever the air may be recirculated through the charcoal filter (optional) and out from the grille in the top panel of the cooker hood into the room, or out through the rear spigots into ducting to the atmosphere. The hood is designed for use fixed beneath a wall cabinet or directly onto a wall using the brackets supplied. IMPORTANT When installed the hood must be positioned at least 65 cm (25 1/2”) above an electric cooking appliance and 70 cm (27”) above a gas cooking appliance. This hood should not be fitted above a cooking appliance with a high level grill without contacting the manufacturer of the cooking appliance for specific instructions since it is probable that the hood will affect the performance of the grill. The hood is 485 mm (19 1/8”) deep and 150 mm (6”) high. The small model is 600 mm (23 5/8”) wide and the larger model is 1000 mm (39 5/8”) wide. WARNING If the room where the cooker hood is to be used contains a fuel burning appliance such as a central heating boiler, then its flue must be of the room sealed or balanced flue type. If other types of flue or appliance are fitted ensure that there is an adequate supply of air to the room. WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED IMPORTANT The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code: Green and Yellow Earth Blue : Neutral Brown : Live As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this cooker hood may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows: The wire which is coloured green and yellow must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter E or by the symbol -t or coloured green and yellow. The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter N or coloured black. The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter L or coloured red. If a 13A (BS. 1363) plug is used fit a 3A fuse. If any other type of plug is used, by a 5A fuse in the plug or adaptor or at the distribution board. WALL FITTING The hood may be fixed to any rigid vertical surface. If it is necessary to fix the unit to a hollow construction plaster or partition board structure then it must be sufficiently reinforced to be quite rigid in the area of the hood mountings. Use the paper template provided to mark the hole positions on the wall for the bracket fixing screws. Check the distances of the holes are correct with a measure as stated on the template. At this stage it is important to allow 15 mm (1/2”) clear space above the hood to enable it to be hooked onto the brackets and for any subsequent removal for cleaning or servicing. When drilling the holes for the wall fixing screws care must be taken to ensure that they are quite level as there is only minimal vertical adjustment of the fixing brackets. The brackets should be fixed with the round end at the bottom. Once the brackets are secured the hood can be hooked on. Access to the two levelling screws and the locking nut studs will require the removal of the lower grille panel that supports the grease mat. To open the grille press inwardly on the two slide catch fastners, located on either side of the grille near the front edge, which will allow the grille to pivot down. The two adjustment screws will be visible towards each end of the back panel. Turn the screws until the hood is positioned at right angles to the wall. Then fit the locking washers and nuts onto the studs that project through the back panel from the wall support brackets to fully secure the hood. WALL CABINET FITTING Before fitting the hood beneath any type of wall cabinet ensure it is firmly fixed to the wall in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. Use the paper template provided to mark the hole positions on the underside of the cabinet. When marking the underside of the cabinet the front edge of the template must be aligned with the front of the cabinet carcase. The four holes are 5 mm (1/4”) diameter. A pad saw or similar cutter will be required to cut the circular hole for the ducting spigot if it is to be used. Tighten each screw about half way to ensure that the hood is correctly positioned before fully tightening the screws. DUCTING FITTING If the hood is to be ducted to the outside then the blanking plug supplied must be fitted to the aperture that will not be used. Fit the flanged spigot into the selected aperture and make an airtight connection. The ducting used must be 100 mm (4”) diameter and where flexible ducting is fitted it should not be turned through very tight bends as this may impair the performance of the hood. OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS The cooker hood functions are controlled by two rocker...
