Make sure the tape is fully rewound. 1 Press the REC(ord) END SEARCH button. The VCR begins fast forwarding to the beginning of the first blank portion of the tape. SEARCHING FOR REC END will appear on-screen during the search. The VCR will automatically stop when the blank portion is reached. REC END SEARCH COMPLETED will appear on-screen briefly. The VCR will skip forward 30 seconds, then resume normal playback. Helpful Hint • Press the STOP/p button to cancel a Record End Search or a Skip Search. VRZ362comb.QX33 4/7/99 8:27 PM Page 49 Quick Search 49 The Quick Search feature locates the beginning of each recording on a tape, then plays the first portion of the recording at high speed for 30 seconds. After it plays the portion, the VCR fast forwards the tape to the next recording. This process is repeated until the end of the tape is reached, or until you stop the Quick Search. 1 Press the QUICK SEARCH button. The VCR will fast forward the tape to the beginning of the next recording. The VCR 2 will play the tape at high speed for 30 seconds, then go to the next recording. To skip immediately to the beginning of the next recording on the tape, press the QUICK SEARCH button on the remote control. 2 To resume normal tape playback, press the PLAY/o button. 1 VAR.SLOW VCR TV CBL/DBS VOL. If a real-time counter memory is set, the VCR will rewind the tape to the point at which the real-time counter was set to zero, then stop. VRZ362comb.QX33 4/7/99 8:27 PM Page 50 50 Real-Time Counter Memory Follow the steps below to reset the real-time counter to zero at a tape location you want to refer to later. 1 Play, fast forward, or rewind a tape to the location that you would like to refer to later. STOP 1:08 PM TV STEREO CH10 SLP M 0 : 00 : 00 HIFI 5 To go to a tape location where the real-time counter was reset to zero, press the REW(ind)/{ button or the F.FWD/B button when playback is stopped. When the tape reaches the point at which the counter was set to zero, the tape will stop. Press the PLAY/o button to watch the tape. • The MEMORY button does not function if REPEAT PLAY is set to ON. Details are on page 45. • To erase a real-time counter memo- ry, press the MEMORY button until the M disappears from the screen. • You may only set the real-time counter to zero at one location at a time.
