B) The top edge of the bracket directly below any structural support across the top of the door. • Mark and drill 5/16" left and right fastening holes. Secure the bracket as shown in Figure 1 if there is vertical reinforcement. If your installation doesn't require vertical reinforcement but does need top and bottom fastening holes for the door 5/16"-18 x 2-1/2" bracket, fasten as shown in Figure 2. Mark holes. Hardware Shown Actual Size • Drill 5/16" pilot holes and fasten the door bracket with hardware provided. If the door has no exposed framing, drill 3/16" pilot holes and fasten the bracket with 5/16"x1-1/2" lag screws (not provided) to the top of the door. The door bracket may be installed on the top edge of the door if required for your installation. (Refer to the dotted line optional placement drawing.) Drill 3/16" pilot holes and substitute 5/16"x1-1/2" lag screws (not provided) to fasten the bracket to the door. SECTIONAL Doors Only Make sure garage door is fully closed. Pull the manual release handle to disconnect the outer from the inner trolley. Slide the outer trolley back (away from the door) about 2" as shown in Figures 1, 2 and 3. Figure 1: • Fasten straight door arm section to outer trolley with the 5/16"x1" clevis pin. Secure the connection with a ring fastener. • Fasten curved section to the door bracket in the same way, using the 5/16"x1-1/4" clevis pin. The trolley will travel to the fully open position. • Manually raise the door to the open position (parallel to the floor), and lift the door arm to the trolley.
