8 pcs of batteries are installed into the battery box. 3. Operation Switch (OPERATION ON/OFF) It turns on/off the power of pan/tilt head. 4. Remote Control Connector (REMOTE) This connector is connected to the pan/tilt connector of WV-5000 color video camera for remotely controlling the pan/tilt head. 5. AC Adaptor In Connector (AC ADAPTOR IN) The DC voltage for operating the pan/tilt head is supplied from the battery box (2) or optional AC adaptor WV-PS03. 6. Pan/Tilt Head Mounting Base One standard N.C. 1/4"-20 threaded mounting screw hole is used for installing the pan/tilt head. - 2 - INSTALLATION 1. Battery installation If the batteries are used as power source, install the 8 pcs of batteries (SUM-3, AM-3 or AA size) as follows. o Loosen the battery ccver fixing screw (1 ) and slide up the battery box (2). o While checking the position/polarity of the bat-teries, install 8 pcs of batteries (SUM-3, AM-3 or AAsize) into the battery box (2). Put the cover (3) back and tighten the fixing screw (1). Install the battery box onto the accessory shoe (4) on the pan/tilt head by sliding the box. Connect the battery cord (5) to the AC adaptor in connector (6). Note : 1. The new batteries operates approximately two hours in the continuous use. Some batteries may not operate two hours, because some batteries have been already discharged and become low level. 2. There are dry battery and rechargeable battery. Refer to the instruction of the battery before installation. 3. Do not mix new and old batteries nor different types of batteries. 4. Remove the batteries if the pan/tilt head is not going to be used for a long time, 5. Dc not make the short circuit between 0 polarity and @ polarity of the battery. 2. Pan/tilt head mounting o The pan/tilt head is mounted by one screw (standard N.C. 1/4" - 20 thread) and the mounting hole is located on the mounting base, o In case of mounting on tripod, o While holding the pan/tilt head mounting base (7) mount the pan/tilt head on the tripod. Note : The tripod which firmly holds the pan/ tilt head and the camera with the lens should be selected. -4- o In case of mounting on wall or flat surface, o The mounting angle on the wall or flat surface is purchased or prepared locally. The mounting angle should be durable enough to hold the entire weight (pan/tilt head, camera, lens) steady in the operation and it should be firmly mounted on a location which supports the entire weight. o Before installation, confirm that there is no obstacles in the range of panning and tilting. Note: It is not recommended to use the pan/tilt head for the normal surveillance purpose. 3. Camera mounting o Mount the WV-D5000 color video camera on the pan/tilt head by the camera mounting screw (8} as shown below. When mounting, adjust the camera mounting screw back and forth so that the camera is balanced on the pan/tilt head. Note : The load weight of pan/tilt head is less than 11 lbs (5kg). 4. Connection of AC adaptor WV-PS03 (option) o If thè AC adaptor WV-PS03 is used as power source instead of batteries, connect the AC adaptor WV-PS03 and the AC adaptor in connector of the pan/tilt head with the power cable supplied. Refer to the operating instruction of AC adaptor WV-PS03. — 5 — 5. Cable connection o Connect the remote control cable/connector of the pan/tilt head to the 5-pin pan/tilt connector on the WV-D5000 color video camera, o Connect the EVF/camera remote connector on the WV-D5000 color video camera and the camera connector on the camera remote controller WV-CR12 by 10-pin control cable. Note: 1. The maximum cable length between the color video camera WV-D5000 and the camera remote controller WV-CR12 is 330 ft (100m). 2. Refer to the operating instructions of the camera remote controller WV-CR12. Turn on the power switch on the AC adaptor WV-PS03. 2. Turn on the operation switch on the pan/tilt head. 3. Turn on the operation switch on the camera remote controller WV-CR12. 4. Set the pan/tilt-lens selection switch on the camera remote controller WV-CR12 to the PAN/TILT position. 5. Press the pan/tilt-lens control switch on the camera remote controller WV-CR12 so that the pan/tilt head is remotely controlled. In case of changing the panning range, rotate the panning body while holding the pan/tilt head mounting base.
