Reset the primary control. If the motor still does not run, replace the control. 5. If the burner ignites and runs a short time (30-40 seconds), then goes out on safety, replace the flame detector. If the burner still runs only a short time, replace the control. 6. If there is a smell of oil or combustion products, remove and clean the electrode assembly (see No. 2 above). Check the draft in the stack above the heater. Stack draft (pull in) should be -.02” W.C. minimum to -.05” W.C. maximum. Check for exhaust fans in the heater room or adjacent areas which draw combustion air away from heater. THE HEATER MUST HAVE COMBUSTION AIR TO OPERATE.
