This is due to the fact that the hair is removed from the root. This burning/stinging sensation will diminish af ter a few sessions. -The removal of hair from the root can cause in-growing hairs or skin irritation. If you know this is likely to happen to you then perhaps you should avoid root epilation. Regular massage of the skin with a massage glove may help to reduce the likelihood of in-growing hair. -The use of an epilator may redden or irritate the skin. This reaction is normal and will soon disappear. If the irritation persists for more than 3 days, stop using the epilator and consult your doctor. -Occasionally, the skin may become inflamed due to bacteria. Cleaning the head of the epilator both before and after use will reduce the risk of infection. -The epilator can only be used for removing individual hairs on the top lip or chin. Keep the skin in that area taut and use a brushing motion. The epilator is NOT an electric shaver and must not be used as such on the face. Its use as a shaver on loose facial skin could pinch and nip the skin causing irritation and cuts. -It is important to use a massage glove or exfoliating cream in a hot bath or shower before removing hair from the bikini line and under the arms, as this will help prevent in-growing hairs. If the said areas have not been shaved for a long time, trim the hair with scissors or clippers beforehand. Use your free hand to keep the skin taut while you remove the hair. -Keep the protective cover fitted when the epilator is not being used.
