ENGLISH 3 How to Use POWER CO) The unit functions ON and OFF by pressing the POWER button. FAN SPEED (®) The fan speed can be adjusted by pressing the SPEED button. Press the button to switch between the unit's three speed settings. Lights on the unit's control panel indicate the selected speed setting. Use QUIET speed for quiet but effective cleaning. Use NORMAL speed for normal air cleaning needs. And use QUICK CLEAN speed for maximum cleaning and circulation. Dust and allergens are most airborne when persons are active in the room, so you may want to use the AQS 500 on higher speeds when people and pets are active and on a lower setting when activity is reduced. TIMER (©) The unit has an automatic timer to turn the unit ON or OFF at intervals of 4, 8 or 12 hours. Settings can be adjusted directly or by using the remote control. To set the unit to turn OFF - while the unit is running, press the timer button until the desired time light is lit. The unit will continue to run until that amount of time has expired. To set the unit to turn ON - while the unit is OFF, press the timer button until the desired time light is lit. The unit will remain off until that amount of time has expired and then the air cleaner will turn on. The unit will restart on the last speed setting used before turning off. CHANGE FILTER INDICATOR (A) The unit is equipped with an indicator light to show when it is recommended to change the filters. This feature is controlled by time of use. The light will come on when 4,000 hours of run time have accumulated. It is suggested that this would be a good time to check and change the filters. Unclean filters will diminish the air quality performance. Filters with significant visible buildup of dust and debris should be changed whether the change filter light has activated or not.
