Over time with use the UV-C bulb will lose some intensity - approximately 15% at 4000 hours. Therefore it is suggested to replace the UV-C light bulb approximately every 6 months depending on use. DIRECTIONS FOR USE USE OF THE GERM GUARDIAN PLUGGABLE When the Germ Guardian Pluggable is turned on you will see a ring of blue light that lets you know it is working. Using a small Phillips head screwdriver, loosen and remove the Phillips screw located at the top backside of the unit. 3. Remove the top cap by lifting it off of the top of the unit. 4. Place the unit on a table or level surface in the upright position. 5. Hold the unit in place with one hand. Locate the bulb and reach into the cylinder. 6. With your opposite hand, turn the bulb in a counter-clockwise direction (left) to loosen from the socket. 1. Unplug the unit from the electrical outlet. 7. Take new bulb and screw into unit using a clockwise motion. 8. Wipe off fingerprints with a dry cloth after bulb is installed. 9. Reassemble by reversing steps 1-6.
