Do not modify the power cord plug provided with the Charger. Do not use the Charger if the power cord or plug is damaged. If damaged, have it repaired by a service facility before use. If the plug will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. Double Insulated Chargers: Chargers with Two Prong Plugs Outlets for 2-Prong Plug Chargers marked “Double Insulated” 1. do not require grounding. They have a special double insulation system which satisfies OSHA requirements and complies with the applicable standards of Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., the Canadian Standard Association, and the National Electrical Code. (See Outlets for 2-Prong Plug.) Double insulated chargers may be 2. used in either of the 120 volt outlets shown in the preceding illustration. (See Outlets for 2-Prong Plug.) If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at 1-800-444-3353 as soon as possible. Operating Instructions Read the entire Important Safety Information section at the beginning of this manual including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product. Place the Battery Pack on a dry 1. fireproof surface in a room where the temperature is from 50–104° F. Allow the Battery Pack to cool 2. completely before charging. Make sure the battery pack is undamaged; do not charge a cracked or leaking battery pack. Disconnect the Cord from the 3. Charger. Attach the plug to a grounded, 120 V~, 60 Hz outlet. If the Charger does not fit properly, disconnect it and confirm that the Battery Pack is the correct model for this Charger as shown on the Specification chart. Do not charge any Battery Pack not listed or any Battery Pack that the Charger does not securely fit. Attach the Cord to the Charger. The 5. Power Indicator will light to show that the power is connected. For a fully discharged battery or a 6. new battery, allow the Battery Pack to Charge for at least 3 hours. Do not charge the Battery Pack longer than 5 hours. WARNING! Time the charging cycle. The battery charger will not signal when charging is finished. Unplug the Charger and disconnect it 7. from the Battery Pack when finished. Allow the Battery Pack to cool 8. completely before using it. Store the Charger and Battery Pack 9. indoors, out of reach of children. REV 09h User-Maintenance Instructions Procedures not specifically explained in this manual must be performed only by a qualified technician. To prevent serious injury from accidental operation: Unplug the Charger before performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning procedures. To prevent serious injury from Charger or battery pack failure: Do not use damaged charger/ battery pack. BEFORE EACH USE,1. inspect the general condition of the Charger. Check for loose hardware, cracked or broken parts, damaged electrical wiring, and any other condition that may affect its safe operation. After Use,2. wipe external surfaces of the Charger with clean, cloth. Ni-Cd 3. Battery must be recycled or disposed of properly. Do not short, incinerate or open Battery Pack.
