AC 1.5Vx6(UM-2, LR14, C SIZE) The unit can also be powered by batteries. (Requires 6 C size batteries, not included. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (ni-cad, ni-mh, etc) batteries. AC 1.5Vx6(UM-2, LR14, C SIZE) 5 Docking an iPod Step 1: Turn the Adjustable Dial for iPod until the arrow on the dial is pointing to the listed iPod model to be docked. • iPod models and memory sizes that are not listed on the Dock Adjustment Dial can be docked by manually adjusting the dial to the depth that fits the iPod best. Step 2: Connect the iPod to the iPod connector inside the Dock for iPod. • When the unit is plugged in, using AC power, the docked iPod will charge. If the unit is running on batteries, DC power, the docked iPod will not charge. Playing an iPod Step 1: After docking an iPod, adjust the Power Switch to the On position. Step 2: Adjust the Source Switch (FM,AM,iPod,Aux In) to the iPod position. Step 3: Press the Play/Pause Button to begin playing the docked iPod. Tuning the Radio Step 1: Adjust the Power Switch to the On position. Step 2: Adjust the Source Switch (FM,AM,iPod,Aux In) to the FM or AM position. Step 3: Turn the Tuning Dial to the desired station. Step 4: Extend the FM Antenna to improve FM radio reception. • An AM antenna is built into the unit. Adjust the unit to improve AM radio reception. Using the Auxiliary Input Step 1: Connect an MP3 player or other audio source to the Auxiliary Input. • This requires a 3.5mm auxiliary input cable, not included. Step 2: Adjust the Power Switch to the On position. Step 3: Adjust the Source Switch (FM,AM,iPod,Aux In) to the Aux In position. Step 4: Audio played from the connected MP3 player or other audio source will now be heard through the unit’s speakers. Adjustable Dial for iPod Turn the Adjustable Dial for iPod to the desired iPod model to be docked. 2. Dock for iPod Use the Dock for iPod to connect an iPod to the unit. 3. Source Switch Adjust the Source Switch to change between AM, FM, iPod, and Auxiliary Mode. 6. Auxiliary Input Use the Auxiliary Input to connect an external audio source, like an MP3 player, to the unit. 7. Volume Dial Turn the Volume Dial to adjust the volume of the unit. 8. FM Antenna Extend the FM Antenna to improve FM radio reception. An AM antenna is built into the unit. Adjust the unit to improve AM radio reception. 9. Power Indicator The Power Indicator illuminates when the unit is powered on. 10. Skip/Search Buttons Press the Skip/Search Buttons to skip between tracks on a docked iPod. Press and hold the Skip/Search Buttons to search through an individual song on a docked iPod. 11. Play/Pause Button Press the Play/Pause Button to play or pause a docked iPod. 12. Tuning Dial Turn the Tuning Dial to adjust the unit’s current AM or FM radio station.
