INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE PRIMO VIAGGIO SIP with ADJUSTABLE BASE Primo Viaggio SIP with Adjustable Base is thechild car seat certified for the 0+ age group, orchildren weighing 0-13 kg. (0-12/14 months). • Primo Viaggio SIP car seat has a GanciomaticSystem that allows you to remove it from “PegPerego” strollers or baby carriages with a flick ofthe hand, and attach and detach it on its base inthe vehicle. 1• To detach the child car seat from its base, pull the handle behind the backrest upwards with onehand while lifting the seat with the other hand. 2• To attach the child car seat, line it up with the hooks and push downwards with both hands untilthe seat clicks into place. SAFETY BELT 3• To fasten the safety belt, place one strap over the other, and insert them into the buckle on the legdivider, pressing until they click into place. 4• To unfasten the safety belt, press the red button on the leg divider buckle. 5• The safety belt straps and the Side Impact Protection headrest can be raised together to 5different positions, to grow with the child. • Before adjusting the height of the safety belt andthe headrest, release the tension on the straps. • To adjust the height of the safety belt and theheadrest, press the height adjustor button(located on the child seat backrest) while liftingor lowering the headrest to the desired position, making sure it clicks into place. 6• The correct position for the headrest is determined by the correct position of the safetybelt straps. The child.s shoulders should be justabove the point where the straps pass. 7• To release the tension in the safety belt straps, slip your finger through the opening in the seatand press the metal button while using your otherhand to pull the straps upwards, as shown in the figure. 8• To fasten the straps with the child in the seat, pull the central adjustment belt towards you, as shown in the figure. Be careful not to pull the straps too tightly against the child; leave just a little play in the straps. PADDING 9• To mount the shoulder padding, open the Velcro fastener and place the padding on the safety beltstrap. Close the Velcro, with the opening turnedoutwards. 10• To mount the leg padding, slip the leg dividerbelt buckle through the padding, as shown in thefigure. 11• The car seat comes with a filler cushion for newborn infants. Remove the filler after the child has grown bigger. To remove the filler cushion, slip it off the leg divider belt. REGULATOR HANDLE 12• The car seat regulator handle has four positions. To incline the seat, press the two buttons on thehandle and simultaneously adjust the seat until itclicks into the desired position. Position A: Set the handle to this position whenthe child car seat is mounted in the car. Position B: Set the handle to this position whencarrying the child car seat by hand or whileattaching it to its base, to a stroller, or to a babycarriage. Position C: Set the handle to this position to allowthe car seat to rock. Position D: Set the handle to this position toprevent the child car seat from rocking. HOOD 13• To mount the hood, insert the fasteners into theopenings on the child car seat and arrange therear part of the hood behind the backrest. 14• To raise or lower the hood, push it backwards orforwards. • ATTENTION: Never grab the hood to lift the seat! The hood will come off, and the seat will fall. 15• To remove the hood, press the buttons on thefasteners while lifting the hood. REMOVABLE LINING 16• To remove the lining from the headrest, slip thelining downwards, off the headrest frame and thesafety belt straps. 17• To remove the lining from the car seat, unscrewthe headrest frame, making sure to keep thescrews. 18• Slip the sack fasteners out from under the seat, and slip the leg divider strap out. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE IN THE VEHICLE IMPORTANT: 19• The Primo Viaggio SIP car seat is certifiedfor use with the Adjustable Base or withoutit. Using the base in the vehicle guaranteesgreater safety. We recommend using the childseat in the vehicle without the base only as alast resort. • The Primo Viaggio SIP car seat can be fastenedto the front seat if the vehicle does not have an airbag, or to the back seat. It is unsafe andprohibited to fasten the child car seat usingtwo-point abdominal vehicle seat belts. Use only a three-point seat belt to fasten the childcar seat, as shown in the figure. FASTENING THE BASE TO THE VEHICLE 20• Place the base for the child car seat on the seat of the vehicle. Since not all vehicle seats slope atthe same angle, the height-adjustable base willallow you to keep the child car seat in the correctposition, parallel to the ground. • The position of the base is correct when the bubble on the gauge is completely visible. • To adjust the base, use one hand to turn knob A, and the other hand to push down on point B tosimulate the child.s weight.
