Kickback may occur when the nose or tip of the guide bar touches an object, and cause a lightning fast reverse reaction, kicking the guide bar up and towards the operator. May cause serious personal injury. Decompression valve: The valve is to reduce the pressure in the cylinder and make starting easier. You should always use the decompression valve when starting the machine. Air purge: Device that evacuates air from the fuel system and make starting the engine easier. Symbols for Canada model: Recommended cutting equipment in this example: - Bar length 18 inches - Max. nose radius 10 Teeth - Chain type Oregon 33 SL Other approved bar and chain combinations in Operator’s Manual. Measured maximum kickback value with brake for the bar and chain combination on the label. Other symbols/decals on the machine refer to special certification requirements for certain markets. Symbols in the operator’s manual: Switch off the engine by moving the stop switch to the STOP position before carrying out any checks or maintenance. Ignition; choke: Set the choke control in the choke position. This should automatically set the stop switch to the start position. Always wear approved protective gloves.
