5-Flashes Flame signal sensed out of proper sequence. 6-Flashes System Lockout. LED SECTION 8: Troubleshooting Guide. Ener-Radiant XL START Check Thermostat and Wiring. Is the power supply to unit 115V? Turn on thermostat Does blower turn on? Check door fit. If damaged, replace door. Remove door. Is voltage at door switch 115V? Depress switch. Does blower come on? Is blower side door in place? No Yes Yes Yes Yes No No No No Find the source of the electrical problem Check voltage to motor. Is it 115V? Check voltage at gas valve. Replace door Replace switch. No Yes Yes Check for 115V transformer input at plug C3 on SmartValve. Check for 115V output of C3. If no output voltage is present replace SmartValve. Check LED indicator on SmartValve for indication of fault. Refer to SmartValve testing on page ?? to determine problem. Is the blower fan obstructed? Remove obstruction Yes No Check wiring and hose connection to air switch. Are they OK? Does the igniter warm up and glow red? Replace wiring and/ or hose connection. Is the air intake or exhaust blocked? Replace blower motor. No No No Yes Yes Jumper wires at pressure switch. Does the ignitor glow red? Is the voltage at the transformer secondary 24V? Replace pressure switch. Remove Obstruction Yes Yes No No Is the voltage at the transformer primary 115V Replace SmartValve. Check wiring and connections Replace transformer Yes No Yes Check LED indicator on SmartValve for indication of fault. Refer to SmartValve testing on page ?? to determine problem. Is the ignitor damaged? Replace ignitor. No Yes No No Check voltage at ignitor. Is it 115V during ignition cycle? Is the resistance through igniter 40 to 75 ohms? Check wire connections. Yes After ignitor warm- up period, does the valve click? Are the wires to the SmartValve OK? Replace/repair wires. No No The SmartValve checks the status of the blower proving switch contacts must see a change in the contact with every firing cycle. Placing a jumper at the switch out of sequence will result in a fault with the LED indicator flashing two times. Yes Yes Replace SmartValve Does the burner light? The switch on the gas valve must be in the on position and the line purged of air. No Were the gas lines purged of air? No Yes Check for proper burner orifice and air plate. Check outlet gas pressure during ignition cycle. Is the pressure 3.5” w.c. for natural or 10.5” w.c. for lp? Check inlet gas pressure. Is pressure correct? Refer to page 40 for correct pressure for unit. Yes Yes Yes Yes No Check inlet gas shutoff. Adjust regulator. Contact gas supplier Adjust to proper pressure. Is the sensor positioned properly? Is the continuity of the ground wire OK? Is the insulation on the sensor lead OK? Is the wiring at the SmartValve OK? Does the burner stay on? Are L1 and L2 reversed? Repair/Replace Yes No No No Yes Yes No No No Yes Yes Yes Yes Repair wiring Repair wiring Is the sensor dirty? Repair wiring Repair wiring. Clean sensor. Does the burner run until the call for heat ends? No Check the continuity of the ground wire. Check the thermostat. No A fault indication of six flashes may indicate that the flame sensing circuit is not functioning properly. Perform the following series of checks to correct the problem. Replace Sensor If a problem still exists, contact Enerco Technical Products Customer Service 1-800-251-0001 Section 9 Replacement Parts Item Part Number Description 1 02731 Hot Surface Igniter 2 02730 Flame Sensor 3 10413A Air Sensing Switch (ERXL-60, 80, 100, 125) 10414A Air Sensing Switch (ERXL-150, 175) 4 01391A Door Switch 5 02371 Burner Cup Assembly 6 07376 Motor and Blower Assembly 7 17376 Manifold 8 00016 Gas Valve - Natural Gas 00017 Gas Valve - LP Gas 9 12404 Inspection Window 10 08364A Transformer 11 02729 Tube Flange Casting VIEW1 111095647832TOP VIEWSIDE VIEW1 Section 10 Engineering Specifications The total heating system supplied shall be design certified by the American Gas Association and the Canadian Gas Association.
