Change accessories and tools only when the appliance is at a standstill (rotary switch 0/off). Use the appliance with original accessories only. Never immerse the base unit in water or place under running water. Operating the appliance Before operating the appliance and accessories for the first time, clean thoroughly; see “Cleaning and servicing”. Preparation • Place the base unit on a smooth, clean surface. • Pull the cord out of the cord store. • Insert the mains plug. 8 Robert Bosch Hausgeräte GmbH en Bowl with accessories/tools • Attach bowl and rotate as far as possible in a clockwise direction. Lug on the bowl must be located fully in the slot in the base unit. • Inserting tools: - Insert tool holder into the bowl. - Place multi-function blade on the tool holder (note position - Figure D4) and release. • Add ingredients. • Attach lid with pusher (match arrow on lid to arrow on bowl) and rotate in a clockwise direction. Lid lug must be located fully in the slot in the base unit. • Set the rotary switch to the desired setting. • To add more ingredients, set the rotary switch to 0/off. • Remove the pusher and add ingredients through the feed tube. • Add liquids through the pusher. Pusher insert can be used as a measuring jug. A Warning! The appliance can only be switched on to process food in the bowl, with an attached bowl, a lid which is attached and screwed on tight as well as a blender drive cover which is closed. Stirrer (6c) Figure E for cream, beaten egg white and light dough. Not suitable for hard ingredients (e.g. pieces of butter from the refrigerator). • Insert stirrer into the bowl (Figure 1 a). • Add ingredients. • Attach lid with pusher and rotate as far as possible in a clockwise direction. • Set the rotary knob to the desired setting (see additional booklet “Recipes and tips”). • To add ingredients, set rotary knob to setting 2. • Remove the pusher and add ingredients through the feed tube. Kneading hook (6d) Figure E for kneading heavy dough and mixing-in ingredients that ought not be cut (e.g. raisins and chocolate chips). • Insert kneading hook into the bowl (Figure 1b). • Add ingredients. • Attach lid with pusher and rotate as far as possible in a clockwise direction. • Set the rotary knob to the desired setting (see additional booklet “Recipes and tips”). • To add further ingredients, set rotary knob to the desired setting. • Remove the pusher and add ingredients through the feed tube. For some models: Cutting discs Figure F Slicing reversible disc (6j) - thick/thin for slicing fruit and vegetables. Shredding reversible disc (6k) - coarse/fine for shredding fruit, vegetables and cheese. Reversible slicing/shredding disc (6l) for slicing and shredding fruit, vegetables and cheese. Grating disc (6m) - medium-fine for shredding nuts, refrigerated chocolate and hard cheese. A Risk of injury from the rotating tools! While the appliance is operating, keep fingers clear of the mixing bowl. Always use the pusher (5a) for adding ingredients. After switching off, the drive continues for a short time. Change tools only when the appliance is at a standstill. Before using the bowl, always attach the blender drive cover (2) and never the blender jug. Multi-function blade (6b) Figure D For cutting, chopping and stirring. A Risk of injury from sharp blades! Only grip the multi-function blade by the plastic handle. A Warning! - Add ingredients to be processed always after the tool has been inserted. - Remove blade guard from multi-function (6b) blade before inserting. Robert Bosch Hausgeräte GmbH 9 en Chipping disc (6n) for slicing French fries (chips) and fruit salad ingredients. • Putting the discs on. Turn required slicing/shredding side face up. In the case of the grating disc (6m) and the chipping disc (6n) place the correct side face up (see Figure B). Place disc onto the disc carrier such that the drive couplings on the disc carrier grip into the disc openings. Disc must rest on the lateral lug of the disc carrier. • Lightly rotating, attach disc carrier to the drive axle. A Risk of injury from sharp blades! Do not put fingers in the feed tube. Only use the pusher when adding more ingredients. • Attach lid with pusher (match arrow on lid to arrow on bowl) and rotate in a clockwise direction. Lid lug must be located fully in the slot in the base unit. • Fill with contents which are to be sliced or shredded. Warning! The discs referred to here are not suitable for processing hard cheese, nuts, horseradish and similar etc. Discs suitable for further purposes are available from dealers, see “Extra accessories”. • Set the rotary switch to the desired setting. • When adding contents which are to be sliced or shredded, apply only light pressure to the pusher. • To add more ingredients, set the rotary switch to 0/off. • Remove the pusher and add ingredients through the feed tube. • Add long and thin contents using the pus...
