Open the battery compartment cover. Install eight UM SUM-1 batteries into the compartment, and then replace the battery compartment cover. This unit is now ready for operation. HOW TO RELEASE THE SPEAKER • Depress the SPEAKEFI BOX RELEASE, towards the direction of symbol show on the speaker box and lift up the speaker box at the same time and then take it out wards. OPERATION • Switch on the POWER SWITCH, before any operations. RADIO RECEPTION • Place the FUNCTION select switch in "RADIO" position. • Set the BAND select switch to desired band. • Tune to the desired station by slowly turning the TUNING knob. • Adjust the VOLUME AND EQUALIZER controls to the desired output volume and tonal quality. AM OR FM ANTENNA Due to the presence of highly sensitive built-in ferrite antenna for reception of AM or FM broadcasts, no other antenna should be necessary under normal reception condition Note, however, that reception may be improved by turning the radio slightly. To listen FM or AM broadcasts, extend the rod antenna to the most suitable length. Reception may be improved by turning the antenna to different direction. FM STEREO RECEPTION For reception of a FM stereo broadcast station, set the band select switch to FM STEREO position. The FM stereo indicator will light when a FM stereo broadcast is being received, (if it is difficult to clearly receive a FM stereo broadcast, for example in an area far away from the station or inside a ferroconcrete building), set the 5 3404 e .qxd 25.09.03 16:53 Page 12 ~Q- ENGLISH FM MODE SWITCH to MONO position. This makes reception easier, although you are not receiving the broadcast stereo- phonically. For private listening plug an optional headphone into the HEADPHOMS JACK. TO INSERT CASSETTE • Press one of the STOP/EJECT button. Press it again if any of the other button was depressed. • Insert a cassette tape will the open part (where the tape is exposed) fading-downward and the full reel on the LEFT and the side to be played or record fas-ing you. • Close the cassette compartment by pushing the top edge of the lid. RECORDING FROM THE BUILT-IN RADIO Set the FUNCTION select switch to "RADIO" position and insert a cassette tape with the full reel on the left into DECK B: • Select a band and then tune the desired radio station. Follow the instructions as described under "RADIO RECEPTION". • Press the PAUSE button first then press the PLAY/RECORD and white holding it in. Now you are ready for recording. • Start recording by pressing the PAUSE button a second time. You are now recording. • Since you can monitor the sound through the speakers, adjust the VQILUME AND EQUALIZER controls to the desired output volume and tonal quality. • To stop the tape movement instantly press the PAUSE button. To start it again, repress the PAUSE button. • Press the STOP/EJECT "B" button to stop recording completely. When the tape is wound completely onto the right side reef while recording the PLAY/RECORD buttons will be released automatically but the radio will remain "ON". NOTE: The unit has an automatic level control (ALC) circuit and so does not require any adjustment of the volume control while recording. ПЯТИПОЛОСНЫЙ ГРАФИЧЕСКИЙ ЭКВАЛАЙЗЕР Отрегулируйте тембр звука с помощью эквалайзера (14) отдельно по низким (100-400 Гц), средним (1-4кГц) и высоким частотам (ЮкГц). УСИЛИТЕЛЬ НИЗКИХ ЧАСТОТ Вы можете усилить звучание низких частот, переведя переключатель SUPER BASS в положение ON. ПОДКЛЮЧЕНИЕ К ДОПОЛНИТЕЛЬНЫМ ИСТОЧНИКАМ ЗВУКА • Подключите дополнительную аппаратуру к гнезду CD/ AUX. • Установите функциональный переключатель в положение CD/ AUX. • Отрегулируйте звук, выберите нужное звучание при помощи регуляторов эквалайзера. ПРЕДОТВРАЩЕНИЕ СЛУЧАЙНОГО СТИРАНИЯ ЗАПИСИ Для предотвращения случайного стирания записи удалите предохранительный язычок кассеты. Вы можете осуществить запись на кассету, заклеив скотчем отверстие слева от язычка. Чтобы стереть запись, не надо предпринимать никаких операций.
