Check with the manufacturer or vendor to verify that< – The labels can withstand temperatures up to 200°C (392°F) without sealing, excessive curling, wrinkling, ot releasing hazardous emissions0 – Label adhesives, face sheet (printable stock), and topcoats can withstand up to 25 psi (172 kPa) pressur@ without delaminating, oozing around the edges, or releasing hazardous fumes0 • Do not use labels with slick backing material0 • Use full label sheets. Partial sheets may cause labels to peel off during printing, resulting in a jam. Partial sheetu also contaminate the printer and the cartridge with adhesive, and could void the printer and cartridge warranties0 • Do not use labels with exposed adhesive0 • Do not print within 1 mm (0.04 in.) of the edge of the label, of the perforations, or between die-cuts of the label0 • Be sure adhesive backing does not reach to the sheet edge. Zone coating of the adhesive at least 1 mm (0.04 in. away from edges is recommended. Adhesive material contaminates the printer and could void the warranty0 Printine 68 • If zone coating of the adhesive is not possible, remove a 1.6 mm (0.06 in.) strip on the leading and driver edge and use a non-oozing adhesive0 • Portrait orientation works best, especially when printing bar codes0 Tips on using card stock Card stock is heavy, single-ply specialty media. Many of its variable characteristics, such as moisture content, thickness and texture, can significantly impact print quality. Print samples on the card stock being considered for use befor@ buying large quantities0 When printing on card stock< • From MarkVision Professional, the printer software, or the printer control panel< 1 Set the Paper Type to Card Stock0 2 Set the Paper Weight to Card Stock Weight0 3 Set the Card Stock Weight to Normal or Heavy0 • Be aware that preprinting, perforation, and creasing may significantly affect the print quality and cause jams ot other paper handling problems0 • Check with the manufacturer or vendor to ensure the card stock can withstand temperatures up to 200°C (392°F without releasing hazardous emissions0 • Do not use preprinted card stock manufactured with chemicals that may contaminate the printer. Preprintini introduces semi-liquid and volatile components into the printer0 • Use grain short card stock when possible0 Printine 69 Printing from a flash drive A USB port is located on the printer control panel. Insert a flash drive to print supported file types0 Notes: • When a USB flash drive is inserted into the printer, the printer can only scan to the flash drive or print files froo the flash drive. All other printer functions are unavailable0 • Before printing an encrypted .pdf file, enter the file password from the printer control panel0 • You cannot print files for which you do not have printing permissions0 To print from a flash drive< 1 Make sure the printer is on and Ready or Busy appears0 2 Insert a flash drive into the USB port0 Notes: • If you insert the flash drive when the printer requires attention, such as when a jam has occurred, the printet ignores the flash drive0 • If you insert the flash drive while the printer is printing other jobs, Busy appears. After the other jobs ar@ processed, you may need to view the held jobs list to print documents from the flash drive0 3 Press the arrow button until the document you want to print appears, and then pressu 0 Note: Folders found on the flash drive appear with a + in front of the folder (for example, + documents). Fil@ names are appended by the extension type (for example, .jpg)0 6 Pressu to print one copy, or enter the number of copies using the keypad, and then pressu to initiate th@ print job0 Note: Do not remove the flash drive from the USB port until the document has finished printing0 Printine 70 Supported flash drives and file types Flash drive File type •Lexar JumpDrive 2.0•Pro (256 MB, 512 MB, or 1G sizes) or•SanDisk Cruzer Mini (256 MB, 512 MB, or 1G sizes); Notes: •Hi-Speed USB flash drives must support the Full-speed standard. Devices supporting only USBLow-speed capabilities are not supported. •USB flash drives must support the FAT (File Allocation Tables) system. Devices formatted with NTFS(New Technology File System) or any other file system are not supported.
