• Link your contracts and warranties. • Share these contracts and warranties with other users within your enterprise. 4 Overview 2 Set up your HP Passport account To manage contracts and warranties you must first set up an HP Passport account. 1. Navigate to: 2. Click on Register on the right side of the screen. 3. Fill in the required fields: 4. Click Continue to proceed to the next page of requirements. 5. In the next screen, click Submit. 5 Successful sign in Once you have finished the registration process, you will automatically be signed in to HP Support Center. Two visual indicators that you are signed in properly are on the top left and the right or the welcome page. 6 Set up your HP Passport account 3 Link contracts and warranties Once you have signed in, you can begin linking your support agreements, HP Care Packs and warranties. Click the My Support tab, then select My contracts & warranties to open the drop-down menu, and select one you would like to link. Using the contracts and warranties main page 1. You can also begin at the Contracts and warranties main page by selecting the My contracts & warranties option from the drop-down (see preceding example). 2. From the main page, set your privacy option and select a link to the type of contract or warranty you wish to link. These links are the same as the links from the drop-down. Using the contracts and warranties main page 7 Link a support agreement To link a support agreement, enter the 12–digit contract ID, and select the ownership type (Single or Multiple). If you need to add contracts, click on the Add more support agreements at the bottom of the page. CAUTION: If other users are linked to a support agreement with a multiple ownership type and you change the ownership type to single, those other users will lose their access to that support agreement. Link an HP Care Pack Linking an HP Care Pack is similar to linking a support agreement. You can link by HP Care Pack serial number or by product serial number and product number. 8 Link contracts and warranties CAUTION: If other users are linked to an HP Care Pack with a multiple ownership type and you change the ownership type to single, those other users will lose their access to that support agreement. Link a warranty Linking a warranty is similar to linking a support agreement. 1. Enter the product serial number. 2. Select the country. 3. Assign a nickname. 4. Select an ownership type (Single or Multiple). Link a warranty 9 10 Link contracts and warranties 4 Manage contract and warranty shares A contract and warranty share is an association you create between a set of contracts and warranties and group of users. You can manage contract and warranty shares from two locations, either from the Actions drop-down with Contracts and Warranties selected in the main drop-down or from the main Contracts and warranties page. You can then edit existing shares and create new shares. Create a new contract and warranty share To create a new Share, complete the following steps: 1. Click on the Create new share button. Create a new contract and warranty share 11 2. Enter a share name and description. 3. Select contracts and warranties from the list on the left, and use the Add button to move them to the right. 12 Manage contract and warranty shares 4. Click Next to continue. 5. Select an existing user group (or create a user group) to associate with the share. 6. Assign roles to the users in the group. Roles are assigned group-wide. That is, all members of the group are assigned the same roles. Some roles are grayed out, depending on the level of support provided by the contracts and warranties in the share. Create a new contract and warranty share 13 7. Click Next at the bottom of the page to continue. 8. Click: a. Submit to confirm that you want to create the share between the contract and warranties you selected and the other user group. b. Cancel to start over. c. Back to select a different user group.
