RM-888 MENU PROGR OK Changing picture and sound modes quickly You can quickly change the Picture Mode or the Sound Mode without entering the ‘PICTURE CONTROL’ or the ‘SOUND CONTROL’ menu screens. Note: These quick change options will not work on digital channels that are transmitting digital teletext. In those instances please use the menu system for any adjustments you require. 1. Press the symbol on the remote control for picture modes or the symbol for sound modes. 2. Press the V or v buttons to select the desired mode. 3. Only available when ‘Surround Mode’ is set to ‘Off’ Auto Surround Additional TV Features Setting up Virtual Dolby Surround The Virtual Dolby Surround feature gives you the effect of Dolby Pro Logic without having to connect any external centre or rear speakers. The surround signals are processed and redirected to the front speakers in order to create the illusion of virtual centre and rear speakers. . RM-888 MENU PROGR OK 1. Press the v button to select ‘Virtual Effect’, then push the b button to enter. 7. Press the b or B buttons to adjust the Virtual Effect level until the illusion of being surrounded by the TV sound is at its most effective. 8. Press the MENU button to remove the display from the TV screen. Note: To achieve the maximum effect from Virtual Dolby Surround, you should sit facing the centre of the TV screen. Additional TV Features Setting up Dolby Pro Logic Before listening to Dolby Surround encoded programmes, you can adapt the features of Dolby Pro Logic to suit your own taste. Note: Dolby Pro Logic decoding should only be turned on when external centre and/or surround speakers are connected. Sony recommend that the centre and/or surround speakers should only be SS-CR190 or equivalent.
