Consider the following:
• HP supports fabric-attached deployment mode only.
• HP recommends that you not use the inline deployment method.
• HP does not offer tape support for the DataFort FC520 that serves the EVA storage system.
Presenting EVA storage to the DataFort FC520
After the DataFort FC520 has been initialized, configured, and connected in the storage area network
(SAN), you can present storage to the DataFort FC520. In a typical configuration, storage is presented
to the host server. However, in this configuration, you must first present the Fibre Channel storage to
the DataFort FC520. The DataFort FC520 then allows EVA storage access to Fibre Channel initiators
as a virtual target.
Presenting EVA LUNs to the DataFort FC520
Before using virtual disks, you must present them to the DataFort FC520 to test connectivity.
To add DataFort FC520 as a host using HP Command View EVA:
1.
Create a new Host under Host folder.
2.
In the Port World Wide Name (WWN) box, select the DataFort FC520 WWN.
3.
Select Windows as the host mode type, and then complete the Add host procedure.
4.
Verify that the DataFort FC520 has been added by inspecting the Host folder in the Navigation
pane of HP Command View EVA.
5.
To add another DataFort FC520, repeat Step 1 through Step 4.
