You must follow these guidelines as you install the Water Filtration System. • Be sure the water supply conforms with the Performance Data. If the water supply conditions are unknown, contact your municipal water company. • Commonwealth of Massachusetts Plumbing Code 248 CMR shall be adhered to. The use of saddle valves is not permitted; please consult your local plumber. WARNING — Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. PROPER INSTALLATION This Water Filtration System must be properly installed and located in accordance with the Installation Instructions before it is used. • Check with your local public works department for plumbing codes. You must follow their guides as you install the Water Filtration System. • Use the Water Filtration System on a potable, safe-to-drink, home COLD water supply only. The filter cartridge will not purify water or make unsafe water safe to drink. • DO NOT use on HOT water (100°F max). • Install or store where it will not be exposed to temperatures below freezing or exposed to any type of weather. Water freezing in the system will damage it. • Your Water Filtration System will withstand up to 125 psi water pressure. If your house water supply pressure is higher than 100 psi during the day (it may reach higher levels at night), install a pressure reducing valve before the system is installed. WARNING — Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. Systems certified for cyst reduction may be used on disinfected water that may contain filterable cysts. WARNING — Discard all unused parts and packaging material after installation. Small parts remaining after installation could be a choke hazard. • Do not install filter in an outside location. These systems are Tested and Certified by WQA against NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for the reduction of Particulate Class 1, Chlorine Taste and Odor and NSF/ANSI Standard 53. Replace the battery cover. Use the alignment arrows to ensure you have the cap in the proper position. Using a small coin or screwdriver, turn clockwise to lock in place. Using a ballpoint pen, push the RESET button. The left green light on the cap will flash 5 times. If the light does not flash, reinstall the battery. Be sure the “+” side is up as shown in Step 5. Align the cap with the filter housing (lights in the front) and press it down into place. NOTE: The cap is designed to fit on the filter housing only one way. 6 5 8 7 INITIAL SET-UP Wash hands. Remove the cap of the filtration system by inserting a small coin or screwdriver on the back of the system and pry to remove cap. Remove the packaging and label at the bottom of the new filter. Then install the new filter. Be sure to support the filter housing in your hand and press the new filter into the housing firmly. Then turn the filter clockwise until hand-tight. Continue to turn until the tab lines up with the non-filtered icon as shown below: Take the cap and turn it over. Use a small coin or screwdriver to rotate the battery cover counterclockwise. Turn the cap right-side-up and the battery cover will drop out. 4 3 2 1 Insert a small coin or screwdriver on the back and pry to remove cap. Insert a small coin or screwdriver and turn counterclockwise to open. Press RESETbutton with a ballpoint pen after filter and battery replacement. Insert a small coin or screwdriver and turn clockwise to lock in place. Black tabs Twist filter clockwise to install. Tab on filter will line up with the Non-filtered icon when the filter is fully installed. Insert a small coin or screwdriver on the back and pry to remove cap. Insert a small coin or screwdriver and turn counterclockwise to open. Press RESETbutton with a ballpoint pen after filter and battery replacement. Insert a small coin or screwdriver and turn clockwise to lock in place. Black tabs Twist filter clockwise to install. Tab on filter will line up with the Non-filtered icon when the filter is fully installed. Installation Instructions 3 INSTALLING THE SYSTEM Wash hands. Remove the existing aerator from the sink faucet. Do not discard gasket; it may be necessary to use the existing gasket for the installation of adapters.
