3.9 SQL/MX Query Execution
-----------------------------
An SQL/MX query in an application program fails to execute
properly when the PROTOTYPE clause is used to specify a table name.
The symptom is either an error that says the target SQL/MP or SQL/MX
table is unavailable, or the query might incorrectly access the
table specified in the PROTOTYPE clause when the query was compiled.
In the latter case, the error that occurs depends on the application
and the table being used.
The failure occurs if the PROTOTYPE clause is used to specify a
table name and the target table has multiple partitions and the query
meets certain criteria. (These criteria are internal to NonStop
SQL/MX and not specified by the user).
The impact is that the SQL/MX query does not execute correctly,
and you must recompile the query using one of the workarounds.
Typically, the PROTOTYPE feature is used to specify a development
system table that is used to compile the query. The production
system table is specified in the host variable at run time after
the application has been moved to the production system.
For SQL/MP tables, a DEFINE name can be used instead of a PROTOTYPE
clause. For SQL/MX and SQL/MP tables, set a CONTROL QUERY DEFAULT
(CQD) before compiling the query. The CQD prevents the problem from
occurring, but it also disables the node or disk autonomy feature.
The CQD is:

3.10 Standard Millicode and Measure
------------------------------------
When using Measure to look at Process records, Process READY TIME is
displayed incorrectly in Measure output. The processor (CPU) busy
time can be greater than the ready time.
To evaluate the performance, use CPU-BUSY-TIME instead of READY-TIME.
3.11 Use OSM to Shut Down the System
-------------------------------------
Never use the following SCF command to shut down the system:
SCF CONTROL SUBSYS $ZZKRN, SHUTDOWN
A message appears, indicating that an orderly shutdown will occur.
In actuality, the processors will power off without performing the
necessary internal I/O quiescence.
Always use the OSM online shutdown command instead. For more
