o STARTOSS (T0585H01)
SYMPTOMS:
The OSS EasySetup utility STARTOSS will issue a failure when you
attempt to start the Local Server #ZPLS.
CONDITIONS:
You will encounter a failure when you migrate to H06.16 or J06.05 on
any system that already has the OSS subsystem installed and uses the
STARTOSS utility to start the OSS subsystem.
LIKELIHOOD:
Certain.
DIRECT IMPACT:
The STARTOSS utility indicates a failure has been encountered when
attempting to start the OSS #ZPLS server.
All other entries in the
OSSINFIL file are not affected.
SIDE EFFECTS:
None.
WORKAROUND:
When installing the H06.16 or J06.05 version of OSS:
Before you start OSS, remove the SERVER #ZPLS entry from the OSS
subsystem maintenance file OSSINFIL on all systems with OSS installed.
The simplest way to do this is to use the TEDIT utility to change the
SERVER #ZPLS entry to a comment, as follows:
