Do not use MH-70 or MH-71 battery chargers. See the MH-72 User’s Manual for more information. New batteries and batteries that have not been used for extended periods may show a drop in capacity. This is normal, and battery capacity will increase with repeated use and recharging. Batteries that no longer hold a charge have reached the end of their charging life and must be replaced. Note that the batteries may fail to charge if the terminals are dirty; clean the battery and charger contacts thoroughly with a dry cloth before charging. Discharge the batteries before recharging. Safety Precautions Observe the following safety precautions to prevent damage to property and injury to yourself and to others. Failure to observe these precautions could result in batter y leakage, overheating, rupture, or fi re. Use only with devices designated for use with this product. WARNING Insert in the correct orientation. Do not short, modify, solder, disassemble, expose to heat or flame, or store or transport with metal objects such as hairpins or necklaces. If liquid from the batteries enters the eyes, immediately rinse the affected area in clean water and seek medical attention. Failure to observe this precaution could result in eye injur y. Do not remove or damage the casing. Do not immerse in or expose to water. Discontinue use immediately should you notice any changes in the batteries, such as discoloration or deformation. Keep out of reach of children. Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of different types. If liquid from the batteries comes into to contact with skin or clothing, immediately rinse the aff ected area in clean water. Failure to observe this precaution could result in skin irritation. Do not expose the batteries to strong physical shocks. Use bat- CAUTION teries as a pair and charge at the same time. Insert batteries in the charger in the correct orientation. U. nicht aufgeladen werden konnen, sobald die Anschlusse verunreinigt sind; reinigen Sie die Anschlusse der Akkus und des Akkuladegerates deshalb sorgfaltig mit einem trockenen Tuch, bevor Sie mit dem Ladevorgang beginnen.
