1 Installing HP NonStop SST Agent
This chapter provides information on the steps to be followed for installing HP NonStop SST Agent in the HP
NonStop environment.
NOTE: The HP Nonstop SST Agent is designed for the ACI BASE24™ application platform. Make sure that
NonStop SST
the ACI BASE24 5.x or 6.x is installed on the HP NonStop Server before installing HP NonStop SST Agent.

The following files are required for installing HP NonStop SST Agent on an HP NonStop Server.

1-2 Installation Procedure
Follow the steps given below to install HP NonStop SST Agent for the first time.
Step A: Creating the InstInfo File
The InstInfo file contains details required for installing HP NonStop SST Agent on the HP NonStop Host. This file
needs to be created and transferred to the host. A sample Instinfo file will be available with the installation
package. The information in the InstInfo file needs to be given in exactly the same format as shown in Appendix
B: Sample InstInfo File.
Follow the steps given below to create the InstInfo file on the workstation:
1.
Copy the sample InstInfo file to a Notepad file.
2.
Specify the various parameters in the InstInfo file.
3.
Save the file with the name InstInfo. To save the file, type the file name within double quotes (“InstInfo”).
Make sure you select All Files option in the Save as type box in the Save dialog box. The file should be
saved in the same directory where the SSTPAK file is saved.
NOTE: While making changes in the sample InstInfo file, make sure that you leave a space after the colon.
The following parameters in the sample Instinfo file needs to be modified.

Parameters Description
PRODUCT
This line determines which applications will be installed on the HP NonStop Server. The various
applications need to be separated by hyphens as shown in the sample INSTINFO file. For
example, if you do not want to install ATM/TA, change OB-ATM-POS to OB-POS.
WORKSUBVOL
The staging sub volume location.
INSTALL_SUBVOLUME
Three character installation subvolume prefix.
PROCESS_PREFIX
Two character process prefix to uniquely identify SST processes.
LICENSE_KEY
The SST product license key provided by HP.
LOGTOCOLLECTOR
The EMS Collector to be used by the HP NonStop SST Agent processes.
SST_LCONF
The location of the LCONf file.
INSTALLATIONDATE
Not used in this release.
LASTMODIFIEDTIME
Not used in this release.
SST_MONITOR_COLLECT The EMS collector process that AO/OVNM would be using. It is primarily for documentation at

this time, since it is a manual process to make sure all the collectors are being consumed by
EMON.
SST_BASE24_COLLECTOR The collector that is used by BASE24.
