Integrity NonStop NS-Series Carrier Grade
Servers
The HP Integrity NonStop NS16000 Carrier Grade server is now available. The
Integrity NonStop NS-series Carrier Grade servers are modified versions of the
commercial Integrity NonStop NS-series servers. They are high-performance systems
designed for the worldwide Telco industry Central Office (CO) environment. They are
built in accordance with the Bellcore Network Equipment-Building System (NEBS)
requirement (zone 4) for typical Central Offices.
Integrity NonStop NS-series Carrier Grade servers differ from commercial Integrity
NonStop NS-series servers in several ways. Integrity NonStop NS-series Carrier Grade
servers:
• Support duplex (dual-modular redundancy (DMR)) configurations but not triplex
(triple-modular redundancy (TMR)) configurations.
• Support a maximum of three NonStop Blade Element enclosures in a Carrier
Grade cabinet.
• Support NonStop S-series I/O enclosures installed in Integrity NonStop NS-series
cabinets or in NonStop S-series CO I/O cabinets.
• Do not support the I/O adapter module (IOAM) enclosure or IOAM-connected
ServerNet adapters and peripherals.
• Support the ServerNet adapters and peripherals supported for NonStop S-series
CO servers only.
• Require two Ethernet ports in each I/O enclosure for connection to the system's
maintenance LAN. Ethernet ports on IOMF 2 FRUs must NOT be used for these
connections.
• Do not support an in-cabinet UPS or ERM.
• Incorporate separate grounding rails in addition to the mounting rails in the cabinet.
• Include hardware features that meet the needs of the telecommunications industry.
These ServerNet adapters can be installed in NonStop S-series CO server I/O
enclosures that are part of Integrity NonStop NS-series Carrier Grade servers:
• Ethernet 4 ServerNet adapter
• Fast Ethernet ServerNet adapter
• Gigabit Ethernet ServerNet adapter, copper
